| Summary: |
People in different types of organizations are becoming more
exposed and involved in teams that are actually leading or implementing
projects. It does not matter if you are developing new software,
creating network infrastructure planning, designing a new web-based
application, or any other kind of undertaking; good Project
Management (PM) planning simply makes projects of any kind more
productive. In fact, project management skills are fast becoming
a required core competency in today's global economy.
One of the critical components of Project Management is having
a solid set of methodologies. These methodologies are important
in the planning, designing, and implementation of projects.
When it comes to applying PM methodologies, it is important
to answer early questions about the implementation and the impact
of these principles in the long-term planning of a project as
well as defining the roles of team members and how they integrate
into the big picture.
A methodology can be defined as the roadmap to any successful
project. The same type of methodologies we apply to any business
plan can also create successful IT projects by applying standard
project-specific methods, best practices, regulations, strategies,
and other features for building quality projects that are manageable
and deliver value to the organization.
Join us for a discussion on project management and IT product
development Methodologies:
- What is the value of having standard methodologies of
any type?
- How does Project Management methodology integrate with
different IT methodologies?
- We have "lean" development methodologies -- is there
a "lean" Project Management methodology or does "one size
fit all"?
- Should the Project Manager be the Technical Lead?
- What are the Organizational Change implications of a
"new" methodology?
We will also briefly discuss the Project Management Professional
Certification that is awarded by the
Project Management Institute:
- What is the value of the PMP Certification?
- What are the requirements for Certification?
- What is the process to achieve and maintain Certification?
