    Joe Salowey

Joe Salowey is a Senior PM at Tableau. Joe is passionate about security and developing secure products. He has extensive experience as a security architect, however, he found that even with secure protocols the lack of emphasis in secure product development practices led to product vulnerabilities that impacted the ultimate security of solutions built with these products so he broadened focus to include secure development lifecycle (SDL).

As a security architect he designs, develops and implements security protocols and solutions used widely throughout the Internet and other communication networks. He developed solutions tailored to integrate into the specific needs of various environments from service provider wireless networks to enterprise access network security.

As a security development lifecycle (SDL) specialist he leads development teams and organizations through improving the security posture of their current product offerings and putting in place a secure development lifecycle process to build security into their future offerings. He works with products that span domains from application to network and operating system security.

Joe actively participates in open international standards development organizations such as the IETF and IEEE to develop open security standards.
